New Eastern Region Sport Manager appointed
Wednesday, 25 March 2015Surf Life Saving New Zealand is pleased to announce that it has appointed Mark Inglis as the new Eastern Region Sport Manager.
Mark comes from a background in both Lifesaving and Sport, with over 20 years of experience both locally and abroad. He originally started his lifesaving career in the Eastern Bay of Plenty with Opotiki and Whakatane before moving to Omanu. He has held various coaching roles along the way and also comes with event management experience.
Educationally, Mark has completed a Bachelor of Physical Education with Otago University (Exercise Science) and has a Post Graduate Diploma in Biomechanics. He wrote his thesis on Energy Demands of Rescue Board Paddling and recently completed a Diploma in Adult Teaching.
We look forward to welcoming Mark to the team from April 13 when he will undertake a handover period with Scott Bicknell.
We would like to wish Scott the very best for his future as he becomes a full time athlete to focus on selection into the Olympic team for Canoe Racing.
Scott's work in the role to date will allow Mark to build on a solid platform that has been developed in the first year of the Eastern Region Sport Manager position.
