2014/15 season Kubota trial recipients announced

Sunday, 23 November 2014

Surf Lifeguards at Warrington and Fitzroy Surf Life Saving Clubs are set to reap the benefits of a 4-wheel drive utility vehicle supported through the generous funding of Pub Charity and an equipment trial program proudly supported by CB Norwood Distributors Ltd New Zealand and their local Kubota dealers.

For the last two seasons, Surf Life Saving New Zealand has worked with the support of Kubota in the trial of two side-by-side Kubota vehicles. In the 2012/13 season, Raglan and Papamoa were the lucky recipients and last season, they went to Pauanui and North Beach in Christchurch.

This year, clubs were once again offered the chance to trial an RTV1140 and Fitzroy and Warrington Surf Life Saving Clubs have been selected as the lucky recipients of the trial. They will each receive an RTV1140 to help in their efforts to save lives on the beach this summer.

Pub Charity Chief Executive Martin Cheer says the organisation is proud to support Surf Life Saving's efforts. "In a rescue emergency there can be no greater need than people trained to intervene with the right equipment in hand. This donation is literally an investment in the lives of everyday New Zealanders. We hope beach-goers at Fitzroy and Warrington don't need to call on this equipment but if they are unfortunate enough to experience a crisis, it will be there," he says.

CB Norwood Distributors Kubota Manager Ian Massicks says 'We are pleased to be a part of something key to the safety of New Zealanders enjoying the sun this summer. Kubota is proud to be in a position to offer this kind of support to communities around the country through Surf Life Saving New Zealand," he says.

The vehicles will be delivered to the clubs in the coming weeks.
