Regional Business Manager - Northern Region

You’ll be developing and maintaining relationships across a wide range of stakeholders to ensure they reflect positively on their relationship with Surf Life Saving. 

Reporting to the General Manager – Business (Wellington) the Business Manager - Northern Region will play an important role within Surf Life Saving’s business team. 

You’ll support the growth of the organisation through the management of existing and new income streams and business programmes within the region. To do so you’ll be well versed in charitable income streams, sponsorship and local government process. You’ll also have vision and be able to see the opportunities for Surf Life Saving and bring those
ideas to fruition. 

Working along side other key regional staff you will play an important role in ensuring Surf Life Saving’s stakeholders in the wider Auckland region continue to hold Surf Life Saving in high regard.

Club Development Officer - Upper South Island

Surf Life Saving New Zealand (SLSNZ) is seeking a self motivated, innovated professional to provide direct and practical support to members and clubs. The CDO will support clubs in  the Upper South Island area by sharing best practice and ensuring volunteer time is effective and provides solutions to problems identified by clubs.

The CDO will:

  • work alongside clubs providing support and guidance for the club to achieve its aspirations and goals;
  • ensure clubs have access to training and development support for their members;
  • aid in the delivery of the regional events and membership development opportunities;
  • act as an advocate for clubs;
  • work alongside a dynamic and motivated team of CDO’s from around New Zealand.

The role is a part time position (30 hours per week). This position along with a Club Development Officer in Christchurch, Dunedin and a Regional Business Manager and Regional Programmes and Service Manager based in Christchurch make up the SLSNZ Southern Region team.

The successful candidate will have relevant experience and qualifications relating to club development, excellent communication skills and be passionate about, and committed to, making a positive difference.

Waihi Beach Lifeguard Service Inc - Season Coach

Waihi Beach Lifeguard Services Inc are seeking a well organised person who can confidently design and deliver a well planned coaching programme across our membership base.

This is a varied role and will offer the successful candidate the opportunity to utilise their skills and abilities in order to achieve positive outcomes, both for our club, and themselves. 

The ideal candidate will be able to clearly demonstrate competence in:

  • Previous experience with coaching, preferably within the Surf Lifesaving environment;
  • Communication skills;
  • Planning and organisation;
  • Leadership and ability to take the initiative;
  • Confident in working on their own;
  • Co-operative with other Club personnel and willing to assist if required;
  • Flexibility and adaptability;
  • Excellent people management and motivational skills

Hours of work will be varied and will include weekends and some evenings.
The position is a fixed term from 11 October 2010 to 21st March 2011. Hours are by negotiation.
